Healer (2014)

Sometimes I feel like everything is hopeless & gloomy. But even though its hopeless I have faith. Faith that your dreams will come true if you never give up. And if it’s meant to be, you’ll meet them. – Young Shin

healer

Healer Synopsis : A decades-old incident involving a group of five friends who ran an illegal pro-democracy broadcasting station during the Fifth Republic in South Korea brings together three different people—an illegal “night courier” with the codename “Healer” (Ji Chang-wook) who possesses top-notch fighting skills, a reporter from a second-rate tabloid news website (Park Min-young), and a famous journalist at a major broadcast station (Yoo Ji-tae). In trying to uncover the truth from that 1992 incident, they grow into real, honest reporters, while dealing with the conflict between truth and fate. (Source : Wikipedia)

FANGIRL FEELS

  • It has a little bit of everything: action, drama, mystery, and romance. The story is well developed with an interesting mystery to solve.
  • The acting was top notch. Ji Chang Wook, Park Min Young, and Yoo Ji Tae were daebak as Seo Jang Hoo, Chae Yeong Shin, Kim Moon Ho respectively.
  • I love the lead’s chemistry. Kinikilig ako!
  • Park Min Young not only did a wonderful job in this drama, her character Cha Yeong Shin was a delight to watch. She played her role really well. I loved how her character had a genuine and naturally playful side.
  • Ji Chang Wook just captivated me with his role as Healer. And he can be super adorable when he’s acting all weak and innocent.
  • The only thing I didn’t like is how the storyline concluded at the end. There were some “easy outs” that the writers took which led to a few unsatisfying endings to some of the characters.
  • The music was great. My personal favorites are Eternal Love by Michael Learns to Rock / You by Ben / Because of You by JUST.
  • Healer is a drama that I didn’t think I’d enjoy but I did. Highly recommended!

My Rating – 9/10
